Lee Sang-mi, a member of the co-ed band Ex, has directly stated her position regarding the plagiarism allegations surrounding the new song 'I'm Quitting My Job' by (G)I-DLE's Soyeon. On the 11th, Lee Sang-mi announced through her SNS that the filming of the Reels video related to the song took place on August 26, which was Soyeon's birthday, denying some speculations that she was hastily recruited following the controversy.

Previously, Soyeon released her studio album 'Awesome Life' on the 7th, but points were raised that the title track 'I'm Quitting My Job' is similar to Ex's 'Please Take Care of Me'.
