According to media reports, the fantasy adventure ‘Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew,’ directed by Greta Gerwig, has released its first artwork and main trailer. The film is scheduled to be released in February 2027.
It is the work that corresponds to the starting point of the story among the seven volumes of C. S. Lewis’s ‘The Chronicles of Narnia.’ It depicts for the first time the birth of Narnia, which has not been covered on screen until now.
The story begins when neighbors and friends Digory and Polly enter a strange world through Uncle Andrew's magic ring. The two children embark on an adventure as they meet Jadis, the White Witch and the lion Aslan who created Narnia.
The work covers everything from the moment Narnia is born through Aslan's song to the appearance of Jadis, the White Witch, who is called that later. It also contains the story involving the lamppost and the wardrobe that symbolize Narnia.
In the released trailer, vast landscapes and mysterious beings unfolding before the two children appear. Director Gerwig, who directed ‘Little Women’ and ‘Barbie,’ reinterprets the origins of Narnia. The released artwork foreshadows a new world with a mysterious atmosphere.
