T.O.P remains silent on fan page closure announcement amidst overseas tour promotion

Actor T.O.P posted information regarding his upcoming concert in Bangkok, but has not responded to the announcement that his personal fan page, which has operated for 20 years, is closing. The fan page administrators claimed that T.O.P and his agency, T.O.P Spot Pictures, evaded responsibility and took fans' dedication for granted.

While singer-turned-actor T.O.P posted news of an overseas performance on SNS, he has not offered any particular position regarding the announcement to end the operation of his personal fan page that has continued for 20 years.

On the 9th, T.O.P released a post on his SNS containing ticket information for the ‘T.O.P PRE-STUDIO 2026 in BANGKOK’ performance to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, on the 24th.

This post drew attention as it was uploaded right before the long-running fan page announced the end of its operation and poured out criticism following T.O.P's public admission of his relationship.

T.O.P's personal fan page ‘CHOIDOT’ announced its official end of operation on the same day, stating that it would conclude activities that had continued for about 20 years since August 24, 2006.

The fan page side claimed that T.O.P and his agency T.O.P Spot Pictures evaded responsibility and took the dedication of fans for granted. They also stated that although albums for fans were put forward, there was insufficient stage presence and communication, and the practical work required for album promotion and fan communication had relied on the voluntary efforts of the personal fan page.

Points were also raised that because official inquiry channels, communities, or emails were not provided, the fan page acted as a window between the company and the fans. Claims were also made that the fan page was utilized like a practical business window, with direct requests to delete or edit photos in posts.

Regarding the recently canceled exhibition, the fan page side explained that the budget was approximately 9 million won, and the administrators planned to bear the costs excluding the admission fees for visitors. However, they stated that the number of applicants did not meet expectations, and as reservation cancellations continued following the reports of his relationship, the burden on the administrators increased to approximately 7 million won, leading to the cancellation of the exhibition.

The fan page side drew a line against interpreting the exhibition cancellation and the end of operations solely as a backlash against the public relationship. They also mentioned that some fans knew about the relationship between the two before the filming of YouTube content but did not mention it, viewing it as the artist's private life.

T.O.P officially admitted to his relationship with Nana on the 2nd. The two met through music video filming, and it is known that they grew closer and developed into a romantic relationship last June.

With the continuous end of the fan page's operation and the cancellation of the exhibition, controversy regarding the loss of fan support surrounding T.O.P is spreading. However, it has not been confirmed what position T.O.P has expressed regarding the claims of the fan page.
