I-dle YUQI Releases Intro Film for 2nd Mini Album... Teasing the Narrative of Age 27

On September 24, agency Cube Entertainment released the intro film for YUQI's second mini album, '二十七(27)', through I-dle's official SNS.

The released video contrasts different sides of YUQI through cinematic visual compositions.

A scene showing her looking at her reflection in calm water appears first, followed by YUQI in a black-and-white screen, revealing a more mature and heavy atmosphere in the rain.

As the flow continues with YUQI embracing her reflection in the water, the YUQI in the black-and-white screen also escapes from worries and fears to regain a bright smile.

The sunflower, which was burning and melting, also returns to its original bright state, visually unfolding the message the album intends to convey.

In the Chinese narration, YUQI begins the story by saying, "The pain I could not bring myself to speak of haunted you every deep night."

She continues, "You were not originally a brave person, and you fear losing something or parting with someone," before offering comfort to herself, saying, "I like all versions of you. I also like how you believe in the world purely."

Furthermore, she emphasized, "There is no 100% correct answer in the world. Your image of crying well and laughing well is never wrong. Living freely and passionately is exactly what makes you who you are."

Finally, she added, "I hope that you, at twenty-seven years old, will always grow toward the sunlight like a sunflower."

The previously released artwork teaser contained the message: 'Just as a twenty-seven-year-old is a period where one hides the deepest worries behind the brightest smile, much like a sunflower grows while leaving its shadow behind and looking only at the sun.'

YUQI is returning to solo activities with '二十七(27)', inspired by her own age.

As this is her solo return after approximately 1 year and 1 month, attention is also focused on YUQI's sensibility and musical color.

Netizens cited the fact that it directly contains the story of 27-year-old YUQI, the meaning of the sunflower direction, and the cinematic atmosphere of the intro film as points of anticipation.

YUQI's second mini album '二十七(27)' will be released on October 8.
