The group A2O LITE, produced by Lee Soo-man, has become the K-pop idol group to enter the Billboard Global 200 Top 10 most rapidly with their debut song "NEON."
According to media reports, following the release of "NEON" on the 13th, A2O LITE entered the Global 200 Top 10 on the 27th, just 14 days later.
This marks the shortest period taken by a K-pop idol group to enter the Top 10 with a debut song since Billboard established the chart in September 2020.
Furthermore, it is the highest record ever for the debut song of a K-pop idol group in terms of its initial entry position on this chart.
The previous record was held by ILLIT. After releasing their debut song "Magnetic" on March 25, 2024, ILLIT reached number 8 on the Billboard Global 200 chart on April 9, 15 days after release. Their initial entry was at number 63, which rose to number 8 the following week, eventually reaching a peak of number 6.
Industry observers believe there is a high possibility that A2O LITE will enter the Billboard Hot 100 within one to two weeks. One industry official stated, "It is expected that recognition of A2O LITE among the United States public will grow rapidly." The Global 200 chart ranks rankings by aggregating music streaming and sales from more than 200 countries and regions, including the United States, and is distinct from the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., which only reflects performance in regions outside the United States.
