The side of aespa member WINTER has announced legal action against authors of malicious posts. On the 28th, the agency SM Entertainment stated through its official SNS that it will take strong legal measures against malicious posts that are continuously being distributed targeting WINTER.
According to the agency, illegal content such as the distribution of false information, defamation, insults, personal attacks, and sexual harassment against WINTER is being continuously posted on various platforms including SNS and online communities. Accordingly, SM plans to proceed with legal procedures such as complaints in stages after review by a law firm.
SM Entertainment stated that they will respond to illegal acts exploiting anonymity without exception, and that they will secure data capable of identifying the authors and distribution routes, regardless of whether they are domestic or international, and request investigations from the competent investigative agencies. Furthermore, they emphasized that they will apply a zero-tolerance principle to caught perpetrators without any leniency or settlement.
Along with this, the agency is frequently securing materials related to malicious posts through fan reports and self-monitoring, and plans to strengthen legal responses to protect the artist in the future.
