CGV to Sequentially Release Three 'Attack on Titan' Movie Versions Exclusively
CGV will sequentially release three theatrical versions of the 'Attack on Titan' animation series, starting with 'Attack on Titan: Crimson Bow and Arrow' on the 28th. The screenings will be available in various formats, including 2D, SCREENX, and 4DX.
According to media reports, CGV will sequentially release three theatrical versions of the animation 'Attack on Titan' exclusively. 'Attack on Titan: Crimson Bow and Arrow' will be presented first on the 28th, followed by 'Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom' and 'Attack on Titan: The Roar of Awakening.' Based on the original manga by Hajime Isayama, the TV animation series 'Attack on Titan' has recorded a cumulative global circulation of 140 million copies. The work depicts the confrontation between humanity, living within massive walls, and the Titans.
'Attack on Titan: Crimson Bow and Arrow' meets theater audiences again for the first time in 11 years since its domestic release in January 2015. Directed by Tetsurō Araki, it tells the story of a boy named Eren, who lost everything to the Titans, as he stands against massive enemies alongside his comrades to reclaim humanity's freedom.
These screenings will be conducted in various formats, including 2D, SCREENX, 4DX, and integrated theaters that combine SCREENX and 4DX. SCREENX, which is being presented for the first time in this re-release, expands the view of the vast lands, forests, and the appearance of the Titans not just to the front, but also to the left and right screens.
4DX implements the dash of the Survey Corps and the movements of the Titans through motion and environmental effects. For the Omni-directional Mobility Gear action, air shots and rapid direction changes are added, while the movements of the Colossal Titan are expressed through heavy impacts, delicate vibrations, and heat effects. In the integrated theaters, viewers can experience the expanded side screens and dynamic motion effects together.
Jang Ji-yeon, head of the Content Operations Team at CGV, said, "We hope audiences enjoy the overwhelming scale and immersion unique to the work by watching the 'Attack on Titan' series presented sequentially at CGV." She added, "CGV will continue to discover new content that audiences desire to increase the fun of visiting the theater."
