Dandi releases new song ‘Love Limit’ after 6 years... Resuming activities

Dandi (real name Dandi, 33) has released a new song and resumed activities after 6 years. According to his agency, Dandi released ‘Love Limit’ on major online music sites through the music platform AURORA at 12:00 PM on the 29th. The agency explained that the song is an emotional hip-hop ballad starting from the idea that there is a limit to love, comparing the moment when one has poured out all their heart and has no love left to give to an 'overlimit'. They added that the song offers comfort to those who have not only experienced the sadness of parting but also those who have been hurt by people and endured difficult times, saying, 'You are not the only one.'

The agency stated that after spending a long time experiencing unexpected difficulties and wounds, Dandi presented his first song to announce a new start by capturing those experiences in music. Dandi said, “As I have also overcome wounds and stood up again, I now want to soothe the wounds of someone listening to my music even just a little. I want to do music for a long time that can be a comfort to people having a hard day and give them the strength to stand up again.”

According to media reports, Dandi was taken to trial in 2020 on charges of sexually assaulting an acquaintance's younger sister. The charge was that he sexually assaulted B, the younger sister of female acquaintance A, while she was sleeping during a time they were drinking at A's house, and Dandi denied the charges during the police investigation. Later, DNA was confirmed on B's body, and he was indicted under detention. The prosecution requested 3 years in prison, completion of a sexual violence treatment program, and a restriction on employment at institutions related to children and adolescents.

The Seoul Eastern District Court Criminal Division 11 recognized all quasi-rape charges as guilty and sentenced him to 2 years and 6 months in prison, suspended for 3 years. They also ordered 160 hours of community service, 40 hours of completion of a sexual violence treatment program, and a 3-year restriction on employment at institutions related to children and adolescents. The court pointed out that the victim suffered additional pain due to the denial of the crime, but took into account that he had no other criminal record and the victim did not want punishment when determining the sentence. At the time of the trial, Dandi apologized to the victim and her family, saying he made a mistake while intoxicated.

Dandi debuted in 2010 with the single ‘Feel Sympathy’ and composed ‘Cutie Song’. He also wrote and composed Kim Jong-min's ‘Save It and Run’, BADKIZ's ‘Slap Across the Ear’ and ‘Want to Stay for Ramyeon?’, and has worked as a producer and hip-hop artist. He also participated in Mnet's ‘Show Me the Money 4’, ‘I Can See Your Voice’, and TV CHOSUN's ‘Mr. Trot’.

According to media reports, Dandi established SD Entertainment in 2018, launched the girl group SATURDAY, and worked as a producer, but left the company after the incident surfaced.
