EBS will begin broadcasting the special classes for the AI era delivered by the world's greatest intellects on September 28.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is leading a paradigm shift across all of society, moving beyond mere technology to encompass economy, education, and philosophy. Keeping pace with the speed of this change, understanding and learning AI is no longer an option but an essential competency for living in a new era. How far will AI transform human life? And in the midst of this massive technological revolution, what must we know and how should we prepare?

In response to the era of the great AI transformation, this program provides a comprehensive look at the AI era alongside the most authoritative scholars leading the world. It presents core knowledge necessary to understand AI and offers various perspectives and directions to respond to these changes.

In this program, a large number of global intellectuals leading the world will participate to deliver diverse and deep stories.

Notably, expectations are high as world-class scholars in the fields of technology, humanities, and education, such as futurist Ray Kurzweil, historian Yuval Harari, former Google Chief Scientist (CSO) Jeff Dean, and mathematician Terence Tao, will step forward as lecturers.

Technology, economy, education, philosophy... Deep insights penetrating all areas of AI

In the fields of future, technology, and economy, Ray Kurzweil, Jeff Dean, and Erik Brynjolfsson will lecture on the principles and development of AI and changes in economic structures.

Futurist Ray Kurzweil, author of the book, will forecast the arrival of the 'Singularity' and the future of humanity. Former Google Chief Scientist and head of Gemini development, Jeff Dean, will explain the core principles of AI. Erik Brynjolfsson, director of the Stanford Digital Economy Lab, will analyze the economic changes during this massive AI transformation period, comparable to the Industrial Revolution.

How will power, knowledge, and education change in the AI era?

In the fields of humanities, knowledge, and education, Yuval Harari, Terence Tao, and Salman Khan will present lectures on how power, knowledge, and education change in the AI era.

World-renowned historian Yuval Harari will illuminate the shift of power in the AI era within a historical context. Mathematician Terence Tao, a Fields Medal winner, will discuss the paradigm shift in knowledge driven by AI, and Salman Khan, founder of the non-profit organization Khan Academy, will present the changed landscape of education in the AI era and its new directions.

From reinforcement learning to semiconductors... Scholars from various fields participate

In addition, the program will feature lectures from scholars in various fields that are difficult to encounter in one place, such as reinforcement learning, robotics, generative AI, and semiconductors.

Turing Award winner and 'father of reinforcement learning' Richard Sutton, philosopher Nick Bostrom, who popularized discussions on superintelligence, and world-class roboticist Daniela Rus from MIT will appear. Furthermore, Jakob Uszkoreit, co-author of the 'Transformer' paper which became the foundation for modern Large Language Models (LLM), Alex Mashrabov, CEO of the generative video startup Higgsfield, and Professor Kim Jung-ho, a world-class expert in the field of AI semiconductors from KAIST, will also participate to provide the knowledge and insight we must know in the changing AI era.

In the rapidly changing AI era, we will examine the core knowledge and diverse perspectives we need to know through lectures by world-class scholars amidst the flood of information.

This program, which contains the essential questions humanity must ask and their answers during the great AI transformation, was produced as part of a national AI education project with budget support from the Ministry of Science and ICT. It will be broadcast on EBS 1TV for 6 weeks, a total of 30 episodes, every Monday to Friday from 5:50 PM to 6:10 PM, from Monday, September 28 to Friday, November 6. After broadcasting, it can be rewatched on the EBS website and the 'EBS e-Sof site (ebssw.kr)'.
