Director Hirokazu Kore-eda's new film ‘Look Back’ topped the box office on its first day of release. The film drew 20,557 viewers on its opening day, ranking first among films released at the same time.

Director Hirokazu Kore-eda's new film ‘Look Back’ rose to the top of the box office on its first day of release.

Released on the 8th, this work gathered 20,557 viewers on its first day, taking 1st place among films released at the same time.

‘Look Back’ made a smooth start, surpassing competing works such as ‘A Questionnaire About the Mouth’ and ‘Furious’.

This opening performance surpassed the 16,206 viewers drawn by director Kiyotaka Oshiyama's animation ‘Look Back’, which was released in 2024 and attracted 320,000 viewers.

The work is based on the short manga of the same name by author Tatsuki Fujimoto, known for ‘Chainsaw Man’, and director Hirokazu Kore-eda took charge of directing, screenwriting, and editing.

This work, which was invited to major international film festivals, received evaluations such as "Director Hirokazu Kore-eda's greatest masterpiece. A work announcing a splendid return."

Starting with the visit to Korea for the Busan International Film Festival, Director Hirokazu Kore-eda is continuing stage greetings and Guest Visits (GV) in Seoul.
