'Home Alone' Manipulation Suspicions Spread... From Rental Car Rental Duration to Fan Meetings
MBC's variety show 'Home Alone' is facing controversy over potential manipulation regarding Jun Hyun-moo's trip to Almaty, Kazakhstan…
MBC variety program 'Home Alone' has been swept into a manipulation controversy regarding the episode about the trip to Almaty, Kazakhstan. On September 6, a netizen submitted a supplementary opinion for broadcast review to the Korea Communications Standards Commission, pointing out that contrary to the explanation in the broadcast of a '29-hour' trip, the rental car rental period shown on screen was set for '48 hours,' from 9:08 AM on August 6, 2026, to 9:08 AM on August 8, 2026. The netizen raised suspicions of staging, stating that considering the time difference and flight time, actual vehicle pickup would be impossible at that time.
Previously, regarding the suspicion that Jun Hyun-moo's trip to Kazakhstan might have been pre-booked a week in advance, the production team explained that they had reviewed several countries in preparation for the possibility of filming and had already requested local filming cooperation. However, despite these explanations, some viewers are doubting the authenticity of the broadcast content. In particular, suspicions continue to persist as questions are raised about whether the scenes where citizens recognized Jun Hyun-moo at a local market were staged situations.
