The EBS program "My Grandchildren Are Here!" will follow Haru's family as they travel from Peru to Argentina to meet paternal grandparents in Buenos Aires and scout potential homes for a planned relocation next year.
The six-member family will conclude their three-generation trek from Peru to Argentina when the EBS program "My Grandchildren Are Here!" broadcasts their journey on October 22. Ahead of a planned relocation next year, the family toured potential homes and met paternal grandparents in Buenos Aires.
Haru's family continues their South American journey in Argentina, the hometown of Matti and the place where Jeong-eun lived for 10 years. The EBS program "My Grandchildren Are Here!" will broadcast the journey of Haru's family—including maternal grandparents from Korea—as they meet paternal grandparents in Buenos Aires and tour potential new homes.
In this upcoming broadcast, Haru seeks to play with his close companion, Si-won, from the very first morning in Argentina. As the family prepares for a move to Argentina next year, they discuss various opinions while touring houses. On the final night of the trip, Haru's paternal grandparents prepare a welcome dinner for their in-laws from Korea. The final itinerary of the six family members, following a three-generation trek from Peru to Argentina, will be revealed on EBS 1TV on October 22 at 9:55 PM.
Haru's first morning in Argentina, wanting to play with his sister
Upon waking on their first morning in Argentina, Haru immediately heads to Si-won's bed. He attempts to wake his sleeping sister so they can play together, but Si-won requires more sleep due to adjusting to a second time zone change. Despite Haru's persistent attempts, Si-won does not wake up. Having traveled through South America together, Si-won is the person Haru seeks first thing in the morning.
Si-won eventually tells him, "No, I won't play with Haru!" Hearing this, Haru bursts into tears. Even after leaving the bed in his father's arms, his crying does not easily stop. The situation continues as Jeong-eun suggests a way to stop Haru's tears. The broadcast introduces the morning where three-year-old Haru cries at his sister's words and the method prepared by his mother, capturing the daily life of the family's first day in Argentina and Haru's desire to be with Si-won.
Tango in La Boca and meeting grandparents at a flea market
The six family members visit the streets of La Boca in Buenos Aires. Amidst the colorful buildings, the family encounters traces of football heroes Maradona and Messi. As tango melodies flow, Haru and Si-won perform impromptu dances. The broadcast captures the two children moving to the rhythm of the tango and the family exploring the streets.
After sightseeing, the family visits a local flea market. While the grandmother finds a necklace she likes, the grandfather, who has no interest in shopping, urges her, "If you like it, buy it quickly!" Feeling hurt, the grandmother hesitates to make the purchase. The grandfather then buys the necklace himself and places it around her neck. The grandmother appears moved by the gesture from the usually blunt grandfather. Following the walk and tango in La Boca, the scene at the flea market unfolds around the purchase of the necklace.
Touring houses ahead of next year's relocation, differing perspectives
During their trip to Argentina, the family visits real estate properties to look at new homes. This part of the itinerary involves Haru's family, accompanied by maternal grandparents, inspecting houses ahead of their planned relocation to Argentina next year. One candidate house is introduced as a property with a unique structure designed by a famous architect, featuring a large living room, an outdoor garden, and a rooftop pool. While Jeong-eun likes the house, her parents inspect various parts of the property thoroughly.
The grandparents check the water pressure, kitchen layout, and old air conditioners. The grandfather discovers traces suspected to be a leak in the ceiling, and the grandmother expresses concern about the subway passing directly in front of the house. Jeong-eun explains the advantages of the house, suggesting they can simply remodel it. While Jeong-eun focuses on prominent features like the spacious living room, garden, and pool, her parents check practical living aspects such as water pressure and the condition of the ceiling. The broadcast will reveal whether the family can find a house they like.
Farewell at the airport following the paternal family's welcome dinner
On the final night of the trip, the family visits the home of Haru's paternal grandparents. The Argentine grandparents personally prepare Korean-language welcome decorations and special music for their in-laws from Korea. The subsequent dinner begins with salad and eggplant dishes, followed by Argentine home-style meals such as beef dishes. As the meal continues even after they are full, the maternal grandparents and Haru find it difficult to keep eating. The broadcast introduces the dinner where food continues to be served and the meeting between the in-laws from the two countries.
On the last day of the South American journey, the maternal grandparents and Si-won, who are returning to Korea, say goodbye to Haru, who is staying in Argentina, at the airport. Haru tells Si-won, "Come again, sister~" Although Haru initially says his farewells bravely, he eventually bursts into tears, and even the usually reliable grandfather's eyes redden. Jeong-eun also joins in the scene of seeing the family off. The journey, which began in Peru and extended to Argentina, concludes with the family saying their goodbyes at the airport.
The EBS "My Grandchildren Are Here!" episode "From Peru to Argentina! Goodbye, Haru" will be broadcast on EBS 1TV on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 9:55 PM. The program can be viewed again on the EBS website after the broadcast.
