Kim Su-yeong issued an apology on October 20, 2026, after blocking viewers who questioned the origin of ingredients during a live broadcast for his Young-i's Marinated Crab brand. While Kim cited aggressive chats as the reason for his actions, his wife noted that comments criticizing the Chinese red pepper powder made it difficult to proceed with the broadcast.

Comedian Kim Su-yeong has officially apologized for the controversy surrounding his unilateral blocking of viewers who asked questions about the origin of ingredients during a live broadcast for his marinated crab brand, Young-i's Marinated Crab.

On October 20, 2026, Kim Su-yeong stated via his social media, "I sincerely apologize to those who felt uncomfortable due to the issue of blocking chats related to the origin of ingredients during a recent live broadcast." He explained that during the broadcast, he had personally stated that the crabs were female crabs from Yeonpyeongdo and the red pepper powder was from China.

He continued, "There were parts that were mentally difficult because malicious slander and aggressive chats were repeated, and it was difficult to respond to every single chat as they rose quickly." He admitted, "If those who asked legitimate questions also experienced discomfort due to being blocked, it was due to a lack of response on my part."

Kim Su-yeong's wife also commented on the post, stating, "There is no reason to deceive in a broadcast watched by 1.2 million people a day, and it was unavoidable for the smooth progress of the broadcast." She added, "Even though the origin is all listed on the detailed page, comments criticizing the Chinese products continued, making it difficult to proceed with the broadcast."

Born in 1987, Kim Su-yeong debuted in 2011 as a 26th generation open recruitment comedian for KBS and has been active in shows such as Gag Concert; he currently operates a marinated crab business with his wife.
