Based on a True Story, the Film 'The Left-Handed Pianist' Makes Its Debut at the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival

The film 'The Left-Handed Pianist,' which captures the true story of pianist Lee Hoon returning to the piano after overcoming a stroke, was screened as a world premiere at the 22nd Jecheon International Music & Film Festival. The work, invited to the 'Music Film Landscape - Portrait of a Musician' category of this festival, first met with audiences at the Jecheon Culture Theater on the 4th and 5th.

The screening was made more meaningful by the attendance of the actual protagonist Lee Hoon and his mother Pung Ok-hee, as well as actors Lee Seok-jun, Jung Young-sook, Lee Sang-yi, director Kim Seung-ju, and producer Hong Jae-il. Jang Hang Jun, the executive director of the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival, also visited the site to encourage the production team. During the Guest Visit (GV), the cast engaged in deep conversations with the audience regarding the process of restarting music after overcoming trials, the bond between family members, and the authenticity of the production.

The narrative, which sublimates the trial of disability through music and family love, seems sufficient to deliver universal emotion to the audience. Produced with location support from Uljin-gun, this film is ahead of its official release this coming November.
