The movie 'The Assassin(s)' has recorded the number one spot in Korean film reservation rates ahead of its release on September 23. According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for movie theater admissions, as of 8:00 AM on August 31, the pre-reservation audience count for the film was tallied at 33,314 people.
This record places it 2nd in the overall movie reservation rankings, following 'The Odyssey'. With 23 days remaining until the release date, it has preempted audience reservations by surpassing competing works such as 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day', foreshadowing a box office hit during the Chuseok holiday season.
Directed by Hur Jin-ho and starring Yoo Hae Jin, Park Hae-il, and Lee Min-ho, this film contains the story of tracking the mastermind behind the assassination attempt on the First Lady that occurred on August 15, 1974. It is drawing attention as a new modern history Universe project from Hive Media Corp, the producer of 'The Man Standing Next' and '12.12: The Day'.
