tvN '100 Days of Deception' Teaser Released... Japanese Netizens React with Backlash to Bold Move Matching Gyeongsul Gukchi Day

tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama '100 Days of Deception' has released a teaser video ahead of its first broadcast on October 10 at 9:10 PM. This work depicts a 100-day espionage romance unfolding in the heart of the enemy between Lee Ga-kyung, who transforms from Gyeongseong's best pickpocket into a spy, and Kim Tae-woong, an elite interpreter for the Government-General of Korea. Actor Kim You-jung will play the role of Lee Ga-kyung, and J.Y. Park will deliver a passionate performance as Kim Tae-woong.

The production team made a bold choice to release the teaser video on the morning of August 29, which is Gyeongsul Gukchi Day, the day the Japanese Empire stripped Korea of its national sovereignty. In response, prospective domestic viewers expressed anticipation, calling it a meaningful move for a drama featuring independence fighters as a subject. On the other hand, some Japanese netizens caused controversy by making absurd claims, calling it anti-Japanese education.

This drama is garnering attention from the production stage as director Yoo In-sik, who directed the 'Dr. Romantic' series and 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo', teamed up with writer Ryu Bo-ri of 'Do You Like Brahms?'. In addition to Kim You-jung and J.Y. Park, a solid cast including Kim Hyun-joo, Lee Moo-saeng, and Jin Seon-kyu will join, which is expected to increase the immersion of the drama. The production team teased a tension-filled development, including spy missions starting from the Government-General of Korea and deals with independence fighters.
