V01D is preparing for their comeback by sequentially releasing moving posters and concept photos for each member ahead of their second mini-album, ‘Youthquake’. The group also recently released their first OST, ‘Day and Night’, for the KBS2 drama ‘A Love Other Than Yours’.
V01D is continuing their comeback preparations by sequentially releasing moving posters and concept photos for each member ahead of the release of their second mini-album, ‘Youthquake’. V01D will begin full-scale activities after releasing the album on the 19th. The released images feature the five members, including leader Song Yu-chan, Shinnosuke, Jeong Ji-seop, Jo Ju-yeon, and Kevin Park, appearing with different styling and expressions. Team photos and unit photos were also released, capturing not only the individual visuals of the members but also the instrumental line and the vocal/keyboard combinations. The new album is a work that expresses the wandering, passion, and explosive energy felt by youth through V01D's band sound.
Different styles captured in member posters
In the individual moving posters and concept photos, the five members showcased styling that reveals their respective musical colors. Leader and drummer Song Yu-chan was photographed in a sharp profile composition that emphasizes his jawline and neckline. In the image containing a deep aura, his side profile was highlighted, through which V01D clearly revealed Song Yu-chan's impression. Bassist Shinnosuke wore a studded shirt and a pendant necklace under warm lighting. He was captured looking at the camera with a deep and mysterious gaze.
Jeong Ji-seop, in charge of guitar and vocals, took a calm pose wearing a heavy vintage velvet vest. In the photo, he expressed chic and modern charisma. Main vocalist Jo Ju-yeon showed delicate expressions in a close-up image, featuring a deep gaze and natural textured hairstyle. Kevin Park, in charge of keyboard and vocals, appeared with silver hair, a dreamy gaze, and a unique black jacket. Rather than matching a single style, the posters and photos of the five members were composed by varying their respective outfits, expressions, and shooting angles.
Team photos and two unit images also released
The team photo was shot with monotone styling. While each member's strong presence is revealed, the team name V01D is written as if scattered on the floor. The image, which contains both the group name and collective styling, was introduced as a concept foreshadowing the explosive energy of youth and intense musical messages to be presented in the new album. It is a method of showing both the team image and individual impressions through photos capturing the members' expressions and movements.
The unit photos revealed the combinations of the members' assigned instruments. In the three-person photo featuring Jeong Ji-seop, Song Yu-chan, and Shinnosuke, the instrumental line responsible for the rhythmic and sophisticated sound is captured. The three looked at the camera while holding their respective instruments against the background of a drum kit. The photo captures their appearance as band members along with serious expressions. In the image featuring Jo Ju-yeon and Kevin Park, the contrast according to their roles was emphasized. Jo Ju-yeon, holding a microphone, took a confident vocal pose, while Kevin Park, holding a shoulder keyboard (keytar), showed a stylish appearance. The team and unit photos go beyond individual images to show the combinations in charge of performance and vocals.
New album capturing the wandering and passion of youth
‘Youthquake’ is V01D's second mini-album. The album melts the wandering, passion, and explosive energy felt by youth into V01D's sensible band sound. The team name written in the team photo, the members' expressions, and their dynamic movements were also released as elements foreshadowing the musical message to be presented in the new album. However, the tracklist or title track title was not provided in the original text.
Following the release of individual moving posters and concept photos ahead of the release, V01D has now presented team and unit photos. The posters and photos contain not only the styling and expressions of the five members but also props showing their respective roles, such as instruments, microphones, and a keytar. The instrumental line photo of Jeong Ji-seop, Song Yu-chan, and Shinnosuke features a drum kit and their respective instruments, while the image of Jo Ju-yeon and Kevin Park contains a microphone and a shoulder keyboard. V01D will begin full-scale activities after releasing ‘Youthquake’ on the 19th.
Release of first OST ‘Day and Night’ since debut
Prior to the release of the new album, V01D released ‘Day and Night’, the fourth OST for the KBS2 Saturday-Sunday mini-series ‘A Love Other Than Yours’, on the 11th. This song is the first OST V01D has participated in since their debut. ‘Day and Night’ was introduced as a lyrical band song. It contains content that comforts those exhausted by the weight of daily life and relationships that do not go as planned, conveying the comfort one wants to offer to the person by their side during moments when it is difficult to understand each other's hearts even in long-standing relationships.
‘Day and Night’ is a song released as a drama OST, while ‘Youthquake’ takes the wandering, passion, and explosive energy of youth as the theme of the album. The released materials do not include specific music chart performance for the OST, broadcasting activity schedules, or album track information. V01D is scheduled to begin activities after releasing their second mini-album on the 19th.
Following the release of their first OST participation song ‘Day and Night’ on the 11th, V01D will release their second mini-album ‘Youthquake’ on the 19th. They will embark on full-scale activities after the release. The individual posters, concept photos, and team and unit images released before the comeback are teasing contents presented sequentially ahead of the new album release.
