The male band V01D will release their second mini-album, 'YOUTHQUAKE', at 6:00 PM on the 19th. The album title combines "Youth" with "Quake," meaning shaking or an earthquake, to capture the massive movements and changes created by youth. In this new album, V01D presents a growth narrative where they use moments of instability and wandering as momentum to move forward and expand their own world. The album includes five tracks: the title track "My Youth," the pre-release title track "Ending Credit," "Memory," "Scream Out Now," and "Best Part." All five members participated in the songwriting and composition.
Youthful instability captured in the album title
‘YOUTHQUAKE’ is a work in which V01D weaves the anxiety and wandering of youth into a single narrative. The title combines "Youth" with "Quake," signifying shaking or an earthquake. Agency IX Entertainment explained that the album contains V01D's growth narrative, where even moments of shaking amidst anxiety and wandering are used as driving force to expand their own world.
The album's narrative is materialized through the individual determination found in the title track "My Youth." The song delivers a firm message of living one's own youth despite the gaze of others and the worries of reality, set against an intense band sound. Centered on this track, the album expands from the story of "I" to the memories and moments shared with others. The agency stated that they focused on completing a growth narrative to allow the musical capabilities of V01D to be discovered through this second mini-album in their first debut year of 2026. The new album presents the process of creating one's own world and the changes and shaking of youth through five songs.
A story of youth expanded through five songs
The title track "My Youth" sings of the attitude to live one's own youth while facing the gaze of others and the worries of reality, supported by an intense band sound. The pre-release title track "Ending Credit" sings of a new beginning rather than an end, layered over an intense and refreshing band sound. The agency introduced that more mature vocals and solid performance can be heard in this track. The two songs are placed side-by-side as title tracks, addressing the moments and changes of youth in different ways.
The three included tracks continue the album's story through different genres and themes. "Memory" is a J-rock style song that captures the sensibility of 2000s youth movies and is characterized by its refreshing feel. "Scream Out Now" is introduced as a rock anthem containing explosive energy that breaks through one's own limits. "Best Part" is a fan song recording the shining moments shared with fans. The agency explained that through these songs, the album's story expands from "I" to "we," completing the five-song composition by moving from individual determination to looking back on shared memories.
