In the SBS ‘Chaebol X Detective 2’ broadcast on August 29, Jin Yi-su and Joo Hye-ra tracked the death of magician Park Jae-ha and uncovered the full truth of the case. Violent Crimes Team 1 confirmed that Park Jae-ha staged a self-inflicted incident using his twin brother Park Jae-hyeong, who is a terminal cancer patient, and concluded the case by obtaining Park Jae-ha's confession through Jin Yi-su's ingenuity.

At the end of the episode, the questions surrounding Yu Sŏngwŏn deepened. Joo Hye-ra mentioned the disappearance of a model and a police junior related to Yu Sŏngwŏn four years ago, pointing him out as a strong suspect. Following a chilling remark made amidst a confrontation with his mother Jeong Tae-seon, Yu Sŏngwŏn increased the tension by making a modeling proposal to bartender Song A-reum.

This 8th episode recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 7.9%, 8.0% in the metropolitan area, and a peak of 9.3%, achieving its own highest performance. In particular, the 2049 viewership rating reached an average of 2.7% and a peak of 3.26%, ranking first among all programs aired on Saturday and proving overwhelming topicality.
