Court Decides to Suspend Validity of Exclusive Contracts for EXO's Chen Baek Xi and INB100

The Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 50 announced on the 15th that it has granted the application for a provisional injunction to suspend the validity of the exclusive contracts filed by EXO members Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin against their agency INB100. The court judged that the mutual relationship of trust had reached a point of breakdown because INB100 failed to pay the settlement amounts according to the contract.
Regarding this decision, the court explained that the validity of the contracts will be suspended until the first instance verdict of the main lawsuit, which is a claim for confirmation of the non-existence of the exclusive contract's validity. It added that it also considered the concern that if the contractual relationship were to be maintained, the freedom of professional choice and activities of Chen Baek Xi could be infringed upon.
Meanwhile, the side of Chen Baek Xi had previously notified the termination of their exclusive contracts in April, citing reasons such as the non-payment of settlement amounts. Cha Ga Won, the CEO of the parent company One Hundred, has been indicted under detention on charges of fraud amounting to tens of billions of won and is facing the first trial on October 13.
