Kim Ji-won to play genius surgeon Gye Su-jeong in SBS ‘Doctor X’

Actress Kim Ji-won will play the genius surgeon Gye Su-jeong in the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘Doctor X: Era of the White Mafia’. The work will premiere on October 9 at 9:50 PM and marks Kim Ji-won's return to the small screen after two years.

Gye Su-jeong is a character who stands against the power cartel of Guseo University Hospital. Possessing outstanding surgical skills, she resolves injustices without being bound by the internal practices of the hospital. The drama depicts the process of a genius surgeon confronting hospital power as a medical noir.

Kim Ji-won revealed that she learned and mastered relevant surgical techniques from consulting doctors for the surgery scenes. Director Lee Jeong-rim, who is in charge of directing, evaluated that Kim Ji-won persuasively expressed the contrasting sides of Gye Su-jeong revealed inside and outside the operating room. Lee Jung-eun will play the role of Jang Hui-suk, who will show a relationship with Gye Su-jeong that is more than just business partners.
