Monoplex opens motion bed cinema in collaboration with Best Sleep and RYSE Hotel
Monoplex has reopened the theater at RYSE Hotel as "Best Sleep Cinema at RYSE" after renovating it with motion beds provided by Best Sleep. The space has transitioned from a 30-seat general theater to a 12-seat premium private screening room designed for individual comfort.
Monoplex has renovated the theater at RYSE Hotel into "Best Sleep Cinema at RYSE" in collaboration with the mattress brand Best Sleep, and reopened it on the 3rd. The existing 30 general seats were replaced with 12 motion bed seats, allowing audiences to watch movies while adjusting the angles of the backrest and legs.
The theater is a private screening space that opened in November 2024. In this reorganization, the number of seats was reduced while the spacing between seats was widened, and the screen viewing angle was redesigned to account for the motion bed structure. The change of reducing seats from 30 to 12 can be seen as shifting the operational focus from accommodating many audience members to expanding individual space.
In this collaboration, Best Sleep supplies motion beds, sofas, diffusers, and bedding sprays, while Monoplex is in charge of theater design, screening operations, and content programming. In connection with the restaurant CHARR within the hotel, menus linked to movie watching have been composed.
Monoplex CEO Seok Min-cheol stated that they plan to operate the space through private events in addition to screenings and to expand cinema models that reflect the characteristics of various brands, including hotels. Through Monoplex, RNR plans, designs, and builds cinemas tailored to spaces such as hotels and residential facilities, and is in charge of content supply and operation.
