Performance content producer and distributor WizOnSen will exclusively screen the 2026 season of the National Theatre's live performance project, 'NT Live', at Megabox in South Korea. This program distinguishes itself from simple special screenings by introducing new works and classic repertoires from the British stage continuously as a season.
The first screening is 'Misanthropes' starring Sandra Oh. In this work, which is a modern adaptation of Molière's original, Sandra Oh makes her debut on the National Theatre stage playing the role of Alice, a novelist who stands against hypocrisy. Following this, a total of eight works, including 'Inter Alia', 'Mrs Warren's Profession', 'The Golden Boy', 'We Are All Trying Here', 'The Fifth Step', 'The Dandy of the West', and 'Frankenstein', are scheduled to meet audiences sequentially.
This project focuses on bringing live performances to the cinema's sound and screen to deliver the tension of the venue and the detailed acting of the actors. By arranging works with various historical backgrounds within a single season, it is expected to provide an opportunity to broadly view the flow of British theater.
Shin Ye-ji, Vice President of WizOnSen, stated, "It is highly meaningful to introduce eight works with different eras and stories together as one season," and added, "We hope this serves as an opportunity for domestic audiences to discover the diverse charms of theater in the familiar space of a movie theater."
