SBS to premiere 'Humanoid Big Bang' on the 8th, analyzing the global race for robot supremacy
SBS will premiere the tech talk-documentary 'Humanoid Big Bang' on the 8th, exploring the evolution of physical AI and the intense global competition for robotic dominance.
SBS will air the first episode of its tech talk-documentary 'Humanoid Big Bang' at 11:05 PM on the 8th. The program highlights the changes occurring as artificial intelligence evolves into physical AI, which understands the physical laws of the real world to facilitate movement.
The show will be hosted by Jang Sung-kyu, Lee Hyun-yi, and Jang Dong-min, with appearances by economic creator Shuka and Korea University professor Kim Dae-gyeom. The production team explained that as of 2026, humanoid robots have become a battlefield determining the fate of nations and corporations. While big tech in the United States is rushing to deploy robots in factories, China is mounting an offensive with battery-swapping robots and ultra-low-cost mass-production models. The program stated that this competition has escalated into a struggle over "who first seizes the industrial ecosystem that generates actual money."
The program will also cover the context behind NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's past visit to Korea, where he remarked, "Korea is the most ideal country to utilize physical AI and robotics, the next wave of AI." His assessment is analyzed based on Korea's semiconductor and manufacturing foundations, as well as its precision component technology. The studio will also examine the principles of finger joints and actuators required to pick up an egg without breaking it.
The issue of employment will also be a topic of discussion, as a 2025 WEF report analyzed that "92 million jobs could disappear by 2030." The panelists will seek conditions for coexistence between humans and robots, weighing the concerns of job disappearance against the liberation of labor brought by the commercialization of domestic robots.
