Actor Kim Namgil and MBC announcer Lee Jae-eun have been chosen as the hosts for the Seoul Drama Awards 2026, which will be held on October 8 at the KBS Hall.
The Seoul Drama Awards organizing committee announced that actor Kim Namgil and MBC announcer Lee Jae-eun have been selected as the hosts for 'Seoul Drama Awards 2026,' which will be held on October 8 at the Yeouido KBS Hall. The awards ceremony is scheduled to be broadcast live on MBC starting from 4:55 PM that day.
Kim Namgil, who has been appointed as an official ambassador, has been leading the spread of social values by operating the cultural arts NGO Gilstory alongside his acting career. Kim Namgil shared his thoughts, saying, “It is meaningful to take on the role of ambassador while K-dramas are receiving love from people around the world. I will lend my strength so that this can develop into a festival where creators and fans from all over the world share emotions across borders.” Announcer Lee Jae-eun, who will work alongside him, is expected to add weight to the awards ceremony based on her proven stable hosting skills in numerous programs.
Marking its 21st year, this year's event has recorded its largest scale ever, with 352 entries submitted from 46 countries. As the lineup of domestic and international actors and creators who have reached the final round is illustrious, this awards ceremony is expected to be a place that once again confirms the status of Korean content in the global drama market.
Prior to the awards ceremony, a ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of Korean dramas will be held on October 6, and various side events, such as drama Talk concerts and OST performances, will continue for two days starting from October 9 around Banpo Hangang Park and Seokchon Lake.
