The controversy surrounding the historical distortion in the film 'The Assassin(s)' is expanding as a rally has been announced in front of the residence of actor Yoo Hae-jin. Kim Sang-jin, representative of New Freedom Solidarity, announced via his SNS on the 1st that rallies will be held every day from the 3rd to the 30th at 4:30 PM near Yoo Hae-jin's residence.

This controversy began as the film deals with the hypothesis that power institutions may have been involved in the background of the 1974 shooting incident of First Lady Yuk Young-soo. Some conservative groups are criticizing this as historical distortion and are continuing their offensive against the production team and the participating actors.

The advertising industry is also unable to avoid the aftermath. Burger King, which hired Yoo Hae-jin as a model, suspended its comment function after a flood of critical comments appeared on its videos. Critical comments are also continuing on the SNS accounts of other participating actors, such as Lee Min-ho and Ryu Hye-young.

The Korean Film Producers Association expressed concern in a statement on the 1st, stating, "We express concern over the excessive criticism directed at individuals such as production companies and actors simply because they participated in the work," and added, "We hope that creative activities will be respected."
