Taiwanese actor Austin Lin will make his South Korean film debut as a cold-blooded killer in Park Hoon-jung's 'Tristes Tropiques', which is scheduled for release on November 25.

Taiwanese actor Austin Lin will meet South Korean audiences by appearing in director Park Hoon-jung's new film 'Tristes Tropiques'. He plays Rain, the second-in-command of an organization, who is a cold-blooded killer yet shows a warm side toward his brothers.

'Tristes Tropiques' is set to be released on November 25. The story follows Rain and his brotherhood as they break away from their organization following the death of their master, leading to a bloody revenge fueled by mutual suspicion. Rain is a figure who left the organization with Jang (Park Hae-soo) to establish the brotherhood, and he particularly cherishes the youngest member, Ru (Lee Shin-young).

Austin Lin previously won the Best Supporting Actor award at the Golden Horse Awards for the 2016 film 'At Cafe 6'. Since then, he has appeared in films such as 'I WeirDO' and 'Marry My Dead Body', the latter of which earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the Golden Horse Awards.

To prepare for his first South Korean film, Austin Lin repeatedly watched scenario reading videos to adapt to the multilingual set and recorded the lines and sign language timing of his co-stars down to the second. "I was deeply fascinated by the director's unique stylish direction and the internal growth of the characters," he stated. "I was very excited to challenge myself with a traditional noir and a killer role."

Regarding his chemistry with Park Hae-soo, he shared, "On set, he took care of the younger actors very attentively, just like an eldest brother. I learned a lot from watching him deliver such a massive amount of dialogue without overacting while bringing out even the most delicate movements."
