What is covered in this episode
In April 1764, Dalmun, a clown from the Joseon Dynasty who was sent into exile after being falsely accused of a great crime, sits before the camera. Through dialogue reconstructed based on historical records such as the Annals of King Yeongjo and Chuan-geup-guk-an, the episode sheds light on the life of Dalmun, who was the leader of beggars and responsible for the laughter of the marketplace. Dalmun is expected to explain, through his characteristic witty banter, why he became a criminal at a tavern on his way to exile and why he wanted to deliver laughter to people throughout his life.
The production team verified Dalmun's footsteps and the historical context of the late Joseon period through expert academic consultation. Rather than having the AI arbitrarily generate dialogue, the production adhered to the principle of visualizing content that has gone through original sources and human writers. Following the great thinkers, the key point of interest in this episode is the restoration of the life of a commoner whose name was left in a single line of the Annals.
