However, the couple living in this house has a special story. Having moved through as many as 15 houses during their 21 years of marriage?! At this point, one might believe moving is their hobby!

The couple has experienced almost every type of residential form. Based on the experience accumulated during that time, they decided to renovate and live in an old house in Pyeongchang-dong this time. The first thing that catches the eye is the long, corridor-style entrance! As it is the first impression of the house, it was decorated to leave a strong impression from the moment one enters. Upon entering the interior, another twist unfolds in the living room. The furniture placed throughout are items that have accompanied them through numerous moves. Choosing furniture that can blend in naturally even when the house changes is the couple's rule! What is the "way of using a house" of this "professional mover" couple, learned after 15 moves?

But... why on earth did the couple move so many houses? Most of the reasons were due to the husband's workplace. Moving due to a commute lasting 3 hours round-trip, moving again to avoid high monthly rent, moving once more due to the limitations of old buildings... and so the moves repeated. After renovating their previous house exactly to their liking, the wife finally dreamed of settling down... but the husband proposed moving to Pyeongchang-dong again to such a wife. How did he manage to change the mind of the wife, who was not pleased with the task of packing up once again?

Upon going up to the second floor, a storage cabinet filling one side of the long corridor catches the eye. It is a ‘three birds with one stone’ space that functions not just as a simple passage, but also as a dressing room and a powder room! And at the end of the corridor, there is a special room the husband made for his wife. A space he willingly dedicated as the ‘Wife's Room’ for the wife, who particularly loves the view of the sun setting in the western sky. Thus, the husband's Pyeongchang-dong moving operation was a success!

Having experienced more diverse houses than anyone else by moving more than 15 times, what does the ‘house they live best in now’ look like for this couple, who finally met after passing through numerous homes and are naturally suited for moving?

Unfinished for 10 years, a house that is fixed again and again

Hongeun-dong, Seoul, where the scenery of an old city and apartments can be seen at a glance! Following the alleys where the appearance of those days remains intact, a house reveals itself. This house, which an architect personally worked on, has been under construction for 10 years already!? Despite this, completion is still far off. As they fix things one by one whenever an inconvenience arises while living, they have undergone four rounds of construction before now.

The first place they worked on was the entrance! The homeowner was always bothered by the fact that as soon as the door opens, the shoes and the interior of the house are fully exposed. Eventually, he took up a handmade saw and engaged in self-renovation himself. When he first moved into this house, he was alone, but now he lives with his mother. The mother, who came to bring side dishes and witnessed her son's house turned into a construction site, reportedly began to naturally lend a hand to the construction from that day...

The second place they worked on was the kitchen! This time, it started from the mother's request. To make a small window so that light and wind could pass through the stuffy kitchen. However, as it is an old house, the architect son did not easily agree, as touching the wall could cause problems. But after personally trying to cook in the kitchen, he realized the mother's discomfort firsthand and finally decided to make the window! Just by making one small window, sunlight enters deep into the kitchen and a new path for the wind is created. Sometimes, the experience of the person living in that space every day is more accurate than an expert.

The third is the son's space, the study! Since they could not properly enjoy the view of the yard due to the existing opaque double windows, this time they focused on creating a ‘semi-outdoor space’ that loosely connects the inside and the outside. Of course, the mother cannot be left out this time. A tense psychological battle between the mother, who says, “I have more experience in self-renovation,” and the son, who says, “Still, I am the architecture expert”! But when they actually start working, they work together in perfect harmony. As it turns out, they are long-time construction partners who have worked on small and large construction projects together since the son was young. A mother and son who bicker but have perfect chemistry. But the construction of this house does not end here?

The homeowner, who directly fixes the space he lives in and feels joy in those changes. Therefore, the word ‘completion’ does not yet suit this house. How will this house, which has been under construction for 10 years, continue to ripen in the future?
