Global Music Industry, Including HYBE and Tencent Music, to Discuss AI Future at ‘2026 MWM Conference’ on September 4
The Korea Popular Music Industry Association will host the ‘2026 MWM Conference’ in Seoul on September 4 to discuss the impact of AI transformation on the music industry's value chain.
The Korea Popular Music Industry Association announced that it will host the ‘2026 MWM Conference’ at the Cube Convention Center in Sangam, Seoul, on September 4. This event will be held under the theme ‘AX (AI Transformation) Era: New Value Chain of the Music Industry,’ and global music industry stakeholders, including HYBE, Tencent Music, and ACRCloud, will attend to discuss changes in the music market due to the introduction of AI technology and measures for rights protection.
According to media reports, this conference will examine the gap between the rapid growth of AI music generation platforms and actual listening rates, and will cover ways to restructure the overall framework of creation, distribution, and settlement systems beyond simple technological observation. In particular, through cases of license-based partnerships between major labels such as Universal and Warner and AI companies, it is expected that the music industry's paradigm shift from 'blocking' to 'managed acceptance' can be confirmed.
This event will be held in connection with ‘MU:CON 2026,’ which is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Content Agency. As keynote speakers, Choi Sun, Head of Chairman's Creative Staff Office at HYBE, will present, while Dora Jin, Business Head of Tencent Music, and Tony Li, Co-founder of ACRCloud, will respectively present on their platforms' AI transformation and rights protection technologies.
The Korea Social Welfare Journal is striving to deliver press releases and welfare information more easily and accurately with the help of AI technology.
