As low birth rates and population decline emerge as major social issues, a platform has been prepared for Koryo-in youths who have returned to Korea to explore career paths by encountering aerospace science.

According to the Gwangju Koryo-in Village on the 28th, the Youth Culture Center under the village held an aerospace science experience class for Koryo-in youths on the 26th, with support from the Korea Aerospace Boy Scouts Gwangju-Jeonnam Federation (Federation President Lim Byeong-sun). The event was organized to instill interest in science and technology and provide opportunities to encounter various career paths for youths who have returned to their ancestors' unfamiliar land to start new lives.

The Korea Aerospace Boy Scouts Gwangju-Jeonnam Federation has been visiting the Koryo-in Village every year to provide visiting classes so that Koryo-in youths can settle stably into Korean society and grow into talents in future industry fields such as aerospace.

On this day, after listening to explanations about the domestic supersonic fighter jet KF-21, the youths had time to personally make and fly paper airplanes. They also expanded their understanding of science by learning the principles of how airplanes fly and the development process of the aerospace industry. As the handmade KF-21 paper airplanes soared into the sky, laughter and cheers erupted among the participating youths.

In a Korean society facing the crisis of low birth rates and population extinction, the Koryo-in Village is expanding experiential education in various fields such as education, culture, arts, and science so that returning Koryo-in youths can establish themselves as members of the local community and future talents. Centered around the Youth Culture Center, the village operates cultural and arts education such as guitar classes and youth orchestras, as well as career exploration programs, helping youths find their respective talents and aptitudes. This multifaceted support is expected to be of practical help in lowering psychological barriers during the early stages of settlement.

An official from the Koryo-in Village said, "In an era of population decline, Koryo-in youths are precious talents who will build the future of Korean society together. We will continue to provide various educational opportunities so that they do not stop at adapting to an unfamiliar environment but can grow into proud members of our society by nurturing their respective talents and dreams." They added, "We also express our gratitude to the Korea Aerospace Boy Scouts Gwangju-Jeonnam Federation for visiting the Koryo-in Village every year to provide opportunities for youths to encounter aerospace science."
