Approximately 40 students from the Department of Geography Education at Jeju National University visited Gwangju Koryoin Village to examine the history of Koryoin ancestors' anti-Japanese independence movements and the lives and culture of returning compatriots. The aspiring teachers observed the processes of population movement and the formation of migrant communities on-site.

The students visited Koryoin Village on the 5th for a field study to understand the history of migration and the settlement process. This visit was organized to connect geographical concepts learned in textbooks with real-world regional cases and to enhance understanding of multicultural societies.

Guided by a commentator, the students toured major sites including the Koryoin Culture Center, Hong Beom-do Park, and the Koryoin Village Special Street. At the culture center, they reflected on the history of independence movements in Primorsky Krai and the forced migration to Central Asia, while at the special street, they observed the process by which Koryoin compatriots formed settlements and created a unique regional cultural landscape.

An official from Koryoin Village stated, "We hope this serves as an opportunity for aspiring teachers to remember the history of the Koryoin ancestors' anti-Japanese independence movements and to understand how population movement and cultural diversity transform local communities." The official added, "We will continue to strive so that Koryoin Village can be utilized as a field study site for history education and multicultural geography education."
