UNICEF Korea and KakaoBank held the 'SAVE RACE 2026' eco-friendly marathon on November 7 at the Yeouido Park Cultural Plaza. The event featured a 10km course, where a record-breaking 7,000 people completed the race to join the response to the climate crisis.
Actor Kwon Hwa-woon, athlete Kim Min-ji, and former national swimming representative Park Tae-hwan led the way as 'front runners.' Participants experienced eco-friendly practices through climate crisis quiz programs and reusable cup water stations installed throughout the entire course. Experts believe that large-scale donation marathons like this will contribute to raising public environmental awareness.
All participation fees will be donated to UNICEF Korea to support children affected by the climate crisis in the East Asia and the Pacific region. KakaoBank announced a plan to provide an additional $1 million annually until 2027, emphasizing its commitment to fulfilling responsibilities for creating a sustainable environment.
