One week before the premiere of the new epic drama 'Sword & Silence', KBS will air special programming. Parts 1 and 2 of 'Civil and Military Special' will be broadcast consecutively on the 7th and 8th at 9:20 PM on KBS 2TV, introducing the production intentions, key characters, and the making of the work. The regular premiere is scheduled for the 14th at 9:20 PM.
'Sword & Silence' depicts the stories of leaders who risked everything for a single victory amidst 600 years of continuous warfare and upheaval within the Three Kingdoms. This is the first KBS epic drama presented approximately three years after 'Korea–Khitan War', directed by Kim Young-jo and Koo Sung-jun and written by Kim Ri-heon and Hongjin. The cast includes Lee Hyun-wook as Kim Beop-min, Jang Hyuk as Yeon Gaesomun, Kim Kang-woo as Kim Chun-chu, and Park Seong-ung as Kim Yu-sin.
Part 1, airing on the 7th, will highlight the history of KBS, which has produced 34 epic dramas over the past 45 years, and the planning intentions of 'Sword & Silence'. Through interviews with the lead actors and director Kim Young-jo, the program will share stories from the filming site and preview major scenes from the main series.
Part 2, airing on the 8th, will feature historian Professor Lee Seong-won and historical writer Park Kwang-il as commentators. They will explain the historical background and character relationships by examining the political situation of the Three Kingdoms at the time and the choices made by the leaders of each nation.
The production team stated, "We hope that through 'Civil and Military Special', the thirst of prospective viewers waiting for the broadcast can be somewhat quenched."
