Director Lee Chang-dong's Netflix film 'Possible Love' received a 7-minute standing ovation during its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
Director Lee Chang-dong's Netflix film 'Possible Love' held its world premiere at the Sala Grande, the main screening hall of the Venice International Film Festival, at 4:30 PM local time in Italy on September 6. The audience, which filled the 1,032-seat theater, proved the intense interest in the work by giving a 7-minute standing ovation after the screening ended.
This event was graced by the presence of Director Lee Chang-dong along with lead actors Jeon Do-yeon, Sul Kyung Gu, Zo In-sung, and Cho Yeo-jeong. The film depicts the process of a laid-off worker couple and a documentary director couple meeting and facing each other's desires, and immediately after the screening, it received praise from leading global media outlets, recording a 100% Rotten Tomatoes freshness index and a Metacritic score of 96.
According to media reports, this work is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 23 and will be released worldwide through Netflix on November 6.
