The Seoul Chapter of the Korean Red Cross conducted a two-day program from October 30 to 31, involving university RCY student leaders, to create "Gifts of Love" for descendants of independence activists and participate in an independence movement history tour.

On the first day, October 30, 15 Youth Red Cross student leaders, Ambassador Jeong A-yeong, Secretary General Heo Hye-suk, and Korean Red Cross volunteers gathered to prepare "Gifts of Love" containing 11 types of items, including low-interest rice. Ambassador Jeong A-yeong participated personally, assisting students with the packaging process. The prepared gifts are scheduled to be delivered to 83 households of descendants partnered through volunteer centers under the branch's jurisdiction.

On October 31, students visited the Seodaemun Independence Park area, the National Memorial of the Korean Provisional Government, and the Seodaemun Prison History Hall to learn about the progression of the independence movement. After listening to on-site commentary, they wrote messages honoring the fallen patriots and conducted a campaign to deliver Taegeukgi badges. Through this field experience, the youth were reported to have reflected on the meaning of history and experienced the value of sharing.

“We provided an opportunity to express gratitude to the descendants of independence activists and for students to learn history firsthand,” said Secretary General Heo Hye-suk. “We will continue to carry out various activities so that youth can remember our history and practice sharing for our neighbors.”
