EBS 'World Theme Travel' will broadcast the episode 'The Last Hermit Kingdom, Bhutan' from Monday, September 7 to Wednesday, September 9 at 8:40 PM. Explorer Nam Young-ho participates as a curator to explore the mysterious landscapes and the meaning of happiness in Bhutan, which he visits again after 8 years.
What is covered in this episode
In Part 1, the unique daily life of Bhutan is observed through the capital Thimphu and Paro International Airport. It introduces the street scenes where traffic moves via hand signals from traffic police at intersections without traffic lights, and Bhutan's archery culture, where they compete at a target distance of 145m, twice the distance of Olympic archery. In Part 2, unique traditions such as the village of Sopsokha, a village of fertility and blessings, and the polyandry practiced in Laya village located at an altitude of 4,000m are highlighted. In Part 3, the soul of Bhutan is sought through the 54m Buddha Dordenma, the world's largest seated Buddha statue, the Taktsang Monastery built on a cliff, and the lives of the Monpa people.
