During the third episode of JTBC drama 'Final Table' aired on the 31st, head chef Kang Han assembled a four-person team for 'The Table: K Chef 2026', including novice Choi Song-i who underwent Spartan-style training to prepare for a confrontation with Cha Woo-jin.
During the third episode of the JTBC weekend drama 'Final Table' aired on the 31st, Kang Han (Ahn Hyo-seop) assembled a four-person team as the head chef of Restaurant Familia to compete in 'The Table: K Chef 2026'. Kang Han proposed a vegetable stew duel to Choi Du-yeong (Kim Jae-hwa) and Park Geon-woo (Lee Bong-jun) to evaluate their flavor profiles, spatial management abilities, and hygiene standards. Choosing Du-yeong as sous chef over the more skilled Geon-woo, he then selected Choi Song-i (Hong Hwa-yeon) as the final team member.
Song-i, who has no prior cooking experience, underwent Spartan-style intensive training where she was taught how to control heat, season with salt, and cook steaks. Kang Han allowed no small mistakes and even corrected her clumsy knife skills by overlaying his hands on hers. During the training, he stimulated their competitive spirit, asking, "Are you not going to win for Familia? If you aren't going to win, why even enter?"
Kang Han is set to face Cha Woo-jin again, who previously finished as a runner-up in an overseas cooking competition. Upon encountering Moon Hae-seon (Jang Young-nam), the chairperson of Pyeongyeon Group, at the competition venue, Kang Han recalled a fire accident from his childhood where he lost his father, vowing, "I will definitely defeat that person who made my dad die." 'Final Table' airs every Saturday at 10:40 PM and Sunday at 10:30 PM.
