The SBS drama Doctor X saw its nationwide rating drop to 15.6% for episode 8 on the 31st of last month, marking a second consecutive decline from a peak of 19.5% reached during episode 6.

The SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Doctor X' (Doctor X: Era of the White Mafia), which features the theme of resident doctors' strikes, recorded a decline in viewership ratings for two consecutive episodes. According to Nielsen Korea, episode 8, which aired on the 31st of last month, reached a peak of 16.7%, with a nationwide rating of 15.6% and a rating of 15.1% in the Seoul metropolitan area.

The drama began with a nationwide rating of 11.4% for episode 1 and climbed to 19.5% by episode 6. However, following a drop to 16.5% for episode 7 on the 30th, the rating fell by an additional 0.9 percentage points in episode 8. Despite this, the series has maintained its position as the number one program in its time slot for four consecutive weeks and remains the top-rated Saturday mini-series.

Episode 8 depicted Gye Su-jeong's attempt to perform surgery on a pediatric cancer patient amidst a medical vacuum. Citing her contract terms, Gye Su-jeong declared she would perform the surgery alone, while hospital director Boo Seung-gwon proposed expanding her contract terms if she could successfully complete the surgery within six hours. As Professor Hwang of neurosurgery collapsed just before the operation, Gye Su-jeong took over the emergency surgery. At the end of the episode, Boo Seung-gwon interrogated Gye Su-jeong about her past, asking, "Is Gye Su-jeong Doctor X?"

The drama airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM.
