Ahn Jung-hwan Announces Achievement of 500 Million Won in Cumulative Donations via YouTube

Broadcaster Ahn Jung-hwan, a former member of the national football team, announced that he has achieved his goal of 500 million won in cumulative donations.

On September 7, through his YouTube channel 'Ahn Jung-hwan19', Ahn Jung-hwan conveyed, "After years of hardship, I have achieved the 500 million won in donations that I set as a goal." He shared his reflections, saying, "I am grateful to the viewers and subscribers who love football, the guests, and the companies that provided PPL," adding, "The production team couldn't even take home a salary and started in a small basement room with a monthly rent of 350,000 won."

Over the past five years, Ahn Jung-hwan has donated YouTube earnings to support children preparing for independence and orphanages, low-income grandparent-headed households, medical expense support, and scholarships for youth and university football.

He also shared his concerns regarding the continued operation of his YouTube channel, stating, "To be honest, I am worried about what to do next. It is so difficult."

Ahn Jung-hwan expressed his feelings, saying, "The football world is also very bitter. It is discouraging and draining to be criticized even after doing good work." This is due to some fans pouring out criticism toward Ahn Jung-hwan when Korean football performed poorly during the North/Central America World Cup period; his co-star Kim Nam-il remarked, "If Jung-hwan hyung didn't have the strength to endure, he wouldn't have made it this far."

Ahn Jung-hwan stated, "I want to continue doing good things and will make an effort. I believe it wasn't me who did it, but all of you," adding, "I am thinking a bit more and contemplating how to decide the future direction. Honestly, I am also contemplating what to do with the YouTube channel."
