BTS became the first K-pop artist to achieve platinum certification in Italy on November 2 after their fifth studio album 'ARIRANG' reached 50,000 units. The album, which has remained on the US Billboard 200 for 32 consecutive weeks, previously received gold certification in April.

According to media reports, the group BTS has written a new chapter in K-pop history within the Italian music market. On the 2nd, BTS's fifth studio album 'ARIRANG' received Platinum certification from the Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana, making them the first K-pop artist to achieve this milestone. This achievement comes approximately six months after the album received Gold certification in April.

Platinum certification is awarded to albums that reach a cumulative 50,000 units, calculated by converting physical album sales, digital downloads, and streaming figures. BTS has previously received Gold certification for 'LOVE YOURSELF 結 'Answer'', 'MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA', 'MAP OF THE SOUL : 7', 'BE', and 'Proof'.

The success of 'ARIRANG' has continued on the US Billboard charts for eight months. The album reached number 57 on the 'Billboard 200', the latest main album chart, as of November 7. Since its release in March, when it debuted directly at the top of the chart, the album has remained on the chart for 32 consecutive weeks.
