BTS's 2021 hit song 'Butter' has exceeded 1.5 billion cumulative streams on Spotify, marking the group's third song to reach this milestone.
BTS's global hit song 'Butter', released in May 2021, has surpassed 1.5 billion cumulative streams on the world's largest music platform, Spotify. Their agency, Big Hit Music, formalized this record on September 3.
With this achievement, BTS now possesses a total of three songs with 1.5 billion streams, following 'Dynamite' and the collaboration track with Coldplay, 'My Universe'. The dance-pop genre track 'Butter' entered at number one on the US Billboard main single chart 'Hot 100' upon its release, holding the top spot for 10 weeks and appearing on the chart for a total of 20 weeks.
Meanwhile, 'Butter' surpassed 1.1 billion views on YouTube last July, setting the seventh 1.1 billion view record among BTS videos. Furthermore, it continues to prove its steady global popularity, having received a nomination for the 2022 Grammy Awards and obtaining a Diamond certification in the streaming category from the Recording Industry Association of Japan in June 2024.
