EBS 'Space' invites viewers to a stage of world-class jazz masters.
In the EBS 'Space' broadcast airing today (14th), under the subtitle 'This is Jazz', the 'Louis Nash Trio' and 'Eddie Gomez Trio', who have led the global jazz scene, will appear to present elegant live stages.
First, the Louis Nash Trio will take the stage. Composed of world-renowned jazz drummer Louis Nash, bassist Kim Dae-ho, and pianist Kang Jae-hoon, they demonstrate close chemistry across borders and generations. The rich experience of Louis Nash, who has participated in over 500 albums, including 10 Grammy Awards-winning albums, is added to the delicate sensibilities of the two Korean musicians.
In this broadcast, the Louis Nash Trio will prepare a performance honoring jazz pianist Oscar Peterson. Recalling precious memories of recording and performing directly with Oscar Peterson, they are scheduled to play 'You Look Good to Me', 'Cubano Chant', and 'Hymn To Freedom', which he wrote or performed himself.
The following stage will be filled with the heavy melodies of the 'Eddie Gomez Trio'. Centered around legendary bassist Eddie Gomez, who led the golden age of the Bill Evans Trio for 11 years, he is joined by his 30-year colleague pianist Stefan Karlsson and his student drummer Steve Pruitt.
The Eddie Gomez Trio will present 'All the Things You Are', 'It Could Happen To You', and 'Trikings' with their own unique color. As Eddie Gomez emphasized "creating one clock by giving each other space to breathe" as the most important value in an ensemble, a sophisticated stage completed through deep communion is expected to deeply color the emotions of the autumn night.
The deep ensemble created by the two jazz masters and their colleagues can be met tonight (14th) at 10:50 PM on EBS 'Space'.
