EBS ‘Space Gonggam’ will color an autumn night with the rich scents of jazz through the melodies of diverse instruments in its "Dive into Jazz" special.

In the episode airing tonight (28th), the program will feature performances by two young musicians leading the Korean jazz scene: saxophonist Song Ha-cheol and vibraphonist Kim Ye-chan.

Song Ha-cheol, who first takes the stage, is a saxophonist who entered the Postmodern Music Department at K University at the age of 17 as the youngest student and was selected as a Jazz People Rising Star. He has expanded his own musical world through collaborations with musicians across various genres.

“The saxophone is an instrument that serves as a voice,” Song said, noting his diverse expressive capabilities as a key point of interest. During this broadcast, he will perform "Hopper Hopper," inspired by an exhibition by painter Edward Hopper; "Mood for Summer," a bolero that captures a picnic scene at Han River Park in early summer; and "Resonance," the title track from his third album. He is expected to create a stage like a painting by freely switching between soprano and tenor saxophones to match the mood and range of each song.

Following him, vibraphonist Kim Ye-chan will captivate listeners with soft melodies and fluid playing. Having started his musical journey as a classical percussionist in an orchestra, he was drawn to the path of a jazz vibraphonist after being fascinated by the "freedom" he felt in the playing of Gary Burton.

Kim Ye-chan, who leads the jazz ensemble Forestet, will deliver a free and three-dimensional sound by performing "With You," which contains the warmth of being with a loved one; "Being," which carries a positive message that existence itself is enough; and "Trust Your Wings," which offers courage to those who hesitate.

The performances by Song Ha-cheol and Kim Ye-chan, showcasing the diverse charms of jazz through different instruments, can be watched tonight (28th) at 10:50 PM on EBS ‘Space Gonggam’.
