Actor Kim Nam-gil has stepped forward to support overseas Hangeul schools along with Professor Seo Kyoung-duk of Sungshin Women's University.
On the 9th, Professor Seo announced through his social media that he and Kim Nam-gil delivered educational equipment such as laptops, projectors, and screens, as well as Hangeul learning supplies, to the Basque Hangeul School in Spain.
This donation is part of the Hangeul globalization campaign that Professor Seo has been promoting.
Professor Seo has been providing supplies necessary to improve the educational environment for foreigners who operate weekend schools teaching Hangeul abroad and Korean language learning groups. To date, he has delivered educational equipment to Hangeul schools around the world, including New York in the United States, Vancouver in Canada, Budapest in Hungary, Mexico City in Mexico, and Auckland in New Zealand.
Kim Nam-gil stated that he would look for organizations working hard to teach Hangeul all over the world and will continue to provide steady support in the future. Song Hye-kyo has also continued activities with Professor Seo for 15 years to promote Korean history and Hangeul abroad, donating Korean language guides, Hangeul signs, and relief works of independence activists to 40 historical sites of the Republic of Korea worldwide. Last July, 10,000 copies of historical guides produced in Korean and English were delivered to the Old Korean Legation in Washington, D.C., United States.
