To mark Dokdo Day on the 25th, a video titled "Taegeukgi over Dokdo," created by Professor Seo Kyoung-duk of Sungshin Women's University and domestic and international netizens, is being released to the world. The video was produced by filming a scene from this past June, where a massive Taegeukgi flag measuring 30 meters wide and 20 meters long was spread out at the Dongdo pier on Dokdo, using a drone to capture and edit the footage into a multilingual presentation.
The 60-second video captures various views of Dokdo alongside the Taegeukgi flag spread over the island. The composition features scenery harmonized with the East Sea, designed to naturally prompt foreign tourists to think of visiting Dokdo. The video is characterized by its compressed visual message tailored to a short-form format.
Professor Seo has continuously engaged in activities utilizing cultural content, such as holding concerts on Dokdo, producing documentary films, and performing with giant Taegeukgi flags. He stated that he judged it effective to naturally promote Dokdo to people around the world using the concept of "Dokdo, the island where culture breathes." He also announced plans to steadily promote Dokdo through even more diverse cultural content, such as a giant drone show in the skies above Dokdo.
