Eighteen trainees from the CJ Donors Camp Academy bakery course participated in a special lecture on Canadian baking culture led by Chantal Marcoux in Seoul on the 26th. The program, which has supported over 1,000 youth since 2017, included a chocolate cupcake demonstration and mentoring session.

CJ Donors Camp announced on the 26th that it hosted the "CJ Donors Camp Academy Bakery Course Special Lecture" at the CJ The Kitchen Cooking Studio located within the CJ CheilJedang Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, inviting Chantal Marcoux, the spouse of Philippe Lafortune, the Canadian Ambassador to Korea.

The special lecture was conducted under the theme "Canadian Baking Stories with Chantal Marcoux." Trainees had the opportunity to experience Canadian home-baking culture and broaden their understanding by comparing baking methods and cultures between Korea and Canada. Eighteen trainees from the second half of the 2026 CJ Donors Camp Academy bakery course participated in the lecture. The program began with an introduction to Canadian home-baking culture, followed by a demonstration and practice session for chocolate cupcakes, and concluded with mentoring.

Chantal Marcoux previously served as the head of data and artificial intelligence governance at the Bank of Canada and currently serves as a guest advisory member for the Digital Innovation Office at the Bank of Korea. She reportedly introduced the daily baking culture of Canada based on her personal home-baking experience. The lecture holds significance in that vocational training for youth extends beyond simple practice to connect with cultural experiences and career exploration. As the program combines field-oriented education with mentoring, the trainees' understanding of their professional roles is expected to increase further.

Since 2017, CJ Donors Camp has provided professional vocational training and field internship opportunities to vulnerable youth through the CJ Donors Camp Academy. Now in its 10th year, the program has supported over 1,000 youth cumulatively through the first half of 2026, with a cumulative employment rate exceeding 85%. The program is currently fostering professional talent in the culinary, service manager, and bakery fields, and in the second half of this year, it is conducting training for a total of 60 trainees, including 18 from the bakery course.
