Movie ‘Obsession’ Ranks 1st at the Box Office in Its Opening Week… Three Times More Successful Than ‘The Substance’

The movie ‘Obsession’ is showing a massive hit trend, recording an overwhelming number of viewers from the early stages of its release. The cumulative number of viewers has exceeded 185,000, and it has maintained 1st place in the category for five consecutive days since its opening day.

This performance is more than three times higher than the first-week viewer count of 55,360 for the movie ‘The Substance,’ which drew attention upon its release in 2024. According to media reports, audiences are showing high satisfaction with the unique horror setting and the tension provided by the theater sound. In fact, it is leading the box office success with continuous praise from actual viewers, recording a 95% CGV Golden Egg Index.
