7 Works Supported by Busan Film Commission Officially Invited to the 31st BIFF

Two regional films supported for production by the Busan Film Commission and five works featuring talents from the Busan Asia Film School (AFiS) have been officially invited to the 31st BIFF, which opens on October 6. This achievement serves as proof that Busan's creative ecosystem is establishing itself as a hub for the Asian film industry beyond the local region.

The Commission's supported works, director Jung Ji-hye's ‘Full Moon’ and director Lee Yeo-jin's ‘The Color of the Wind’, have been named in the ‘Vision - Korea’ and ‘Wide Angle - Documentary Showcase’ sections, respectively. Additionally, five films in which AFiS graduates and students participated as producers were evenly selected for major sections such as ‘New Currents’, ‘Vision - Asia’, and ‘Wide Angle - Asian Short Film Competition’, proving the practical results of the global network.

Kang Seong-gyu, chairperson of the Busan Film Commission, stated, “It is meaningful that the capabilities of local creators and the international solidarity of AFiS are bearing fruit on the large stage of the film festival.” He added, “We will continue to provide field-oriented support so that local filmmakers can advance to the global stage and Asian talents can interact in Busan.” These invited works are evaluated as examples showing that Busan is growing into a film city with international competitiveness from the planning and production stages, moving beyond being a mere filming location.
