[Korea Social Welfare Journal] Reporter Kang Hyun-gu= Comedian Lee Jin-ho has received a suspended prison sentence from the court. On the 1st, the Yeoju Branch of the Suwon District Court ruled that Lee Jin-ho's charges of illegal gambling and drunk driving were recognized, sentencing him to 1 year and 6 months in prison with a 3-year suspension, and 120 hours of community service.
Lee Jin-ho was accused of continuously gambling by transferring a total of 870 million won to online gambling sites and exchanging it for cyber money across 664 instances from May 2023 to October 2024. He also faces charges of driving while intoxicated for approximately 70km from Incheon to Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi-do, in September 2025. At the time, his blood alcohol concentration was 0.12%, which is a level corresponding to license revocation.
During the final trial held last August, the prosecution sought a 2-year prison sentence for Lee Jin-ho. Lee Jin-ho's side admitted to all charges during the trial. The court delivered this ruling considering that Lee Jin-ho is deeply reflecting on his wrongdoings.
Additionally, Lee Jin-ho was hospitalized for a cerebral hemorrhage this April and was discharged in May after undergoing treatment and rehabilitation. It is reported that he is currently experiencing difficulties in communication and movement due to partial paralysis symptoms, although everyday conversation and movement are possible.
